Did this story about Kelowna and West Kelowna’s difference of opinion over using cameras to police what people throw out in the trash. It’s easy to make a surveillance system like this benign. The goal after all is noble: diverting recyclables from the landfill.

But it means that yet another aspect of our lives has fallen prey to monitoring by government officials.
