Water, water, water. It’s going to be the new oil in the not too distant future, a precious commodity we can’t live without and that we find ourselves battling over.

This Globe story, Cottagers oppose bid to raise reservoir levels in Central Okanagan community, takes a look at  a plan by Lake Country to raise the level of three reservoir lakes, which is opposed by cottagers who have cabins next to those lakes. The cottage owners  are also waiting to hear wether the provincial government will sell them the lots they currently lease. It’s that age old question, what’s the best way to protect a resource, as a publically owned commons or make it private property.
