Kelowna Rockets looking good heading into the playoffs

I may have lost my job at but I’m still working, at least a little bit. This is my third season covering Kelowna’s Major Junior hockey team, the Rockets, for B.C. Hockey Now, a magazine distributed for free at hockey arenas and Canadian Tire stores.

During the hockey season it comes out about every two weeks, so it’s not a lot of work and it doesn’t pay much but I get to sit in the press box and watch a lot of great hockey.

My last story summed up the Rockets situation going into the playoffs as pretty good. They may have ended up in sixth place which has them facing the third place Everett Silvertips but they are playing some of their most sound hockey of the season, have key players back from injury and are getting good goaltending.
